Inner Words Skills
Integrating a second language as part of one's identity involves more than just acquiring linguistic skills; it is a deep, transformative process that reshapes how an individual perceives and expresses themselves. This integration often requires embracing not only the language itself but also the cultural nuances, traditions, and values associated with it. As the second language becomes ingrained in daily life, it influences thoughts, behaviors, and interactions, leading to a richer, more diverse sense of self.
For bilingual or multilingual individuals, this integration can result in a fluid identity, where switching between languages reflects different facets of their personality or cultural heritage. The second language becomes a tool for connecting with others on a deeper level, bridging gaps between different communities and fostering a sense of belonging in multiple cultural spheres.

Acknowledgement of Indigenous Territories
At Inner Words Skills School of Languages, we recognize and deeply respect the Indigenous Peoples who have lived on and cared for the lands on which our school is founded. Our operations in Ontario and Alberta are situated on territories that have long been home to diverse Indigenous communities.
In Ontario, we acknowledge that we are on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Huron-Wendat, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. These lands are part of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between nations to share and care for the resources in the Great Lakes region.
In Alberta, we respectfully recognize that we are on Treaty 6, Treaty 7, and Treaty 8 territories, the traditional lands of the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, and Métis peoples. These lands are also deeply connected to the histories and cultures of Indigenous Nations who have cared for and protected them for millennia.
We honor the Indigenous Peoples' profound connection to these lands and are committed to fostering respectful relationships with the communities where we work and learn.
Inner Words Skills School of Languages is dedicated to contributing to reconciliation and continuing our efforts to support and respect the rights of Indigenous Peoples across Canada.
